Located within Tokiwa Park in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, it opened in 2016 (Heisei 28). It was the first facility in Japan to introduce habitat-based exhibits throughout the entire park, allowing visitors to observe primates such as white-handed gibbons (Hylobates lar) in conditions close to their natural appearance.
