About
The crowned lemur (Eulemur coronatus) is a small lemur adapted to various forests such as dry forests in northern Madagascar. It is diurnal with a home range of about 10–15 ha, feeding mainly on fruit and supplementing its diet seasonally with leaves, flowers, and insects. Groups are multi-male multi-female, typically 5–15 individuals, with females socially dominant. Populations have declined due to deforestation and hunting, and the species is considered threatened.
