About

Body length 34–37 cm, weight 1–1.25 kg, tail about 40 cm; large size with distinctive black and cream coloration. It mainly eats fruit and nuts, builds nests in trees, is diurnal and generally solitary, though multiple individuals may be seen during the breeding season. In recent years populations have declined due to hunting and habitat destruction, and it is listed as Near Threatened.
