About
The Coppery titi (Plecturocebus cupreus) is a small titi that lives largely arboreally in the tropical rainforests of Brazil and Peru. Its body length is about 35 cm and its weight is around 1 kg; groups are typically pair-based and can be up to about five individuals. In the morning the male and female sing duets to announce their territory. It is diurnal and its diet is composed of more than 70% fruit, but it also eats leaves, flowers, and insects. Reproduction occurs once a year, with one offspring born between November and May, and the father is often the one who carries the young. Population numbers are not well known, and its conservation status is Near Threatened.
