The Fan-footed gecko (Ptyodactylus hasselquistii) is native to North Africa and the Middle East, inhabiting rocky deserts, cliffs, canyons, and dry shrublands. Thanks to its specialized feet, it can move across steep rock faces and rough terrain with remarkable agility. It has toes with fringed scales that function like natural climbing boots, enabling it to grip rocks more securely and move effectively across sandy ground compared with many other geckos.
